Questionable PAL Guard Marked M3

Just came across this item on ebay. Bidding ended on it while I was studying it. Item # 121609490487. This one is a good one to study. It's sold and I have no connection to the seller. If someone can post it on the thread it will be appreciated. There's some really questionable features that this one has. 1) The stamp is backwards, facing the handle, not the blade. Also if you look at the M3, you will note that it has a dash (--), between the M & 3. PALs did not have those. The handle leather is not like any I've seen prior. Another real point of contention is that the pommel is secured with one pin. PAL either peened, or staked they're pommels, never pinned. I compared my 8 groove PAL, plus checked out Coniglio, and Coles books. Nothing similar. The really sad note is someone spent $763 for this knife. I'm not here to slam the seller, more than likely they don't know. This is an excellent example of why books need to be bought, read, and studied, plus, follow knives on ebay, a lot can be learned about knives, prices, and variations or types. It's a crying shame someone is paying so much for what appears to be a fake. Saw an IMA fake M3 (US M3 1943), w/ an asking price of $220 at the Fayetteville, NC show. These run new for what $39. Also saw an IMA M1917 Bolo w/ M1910 scabbard being passed as an original, for $190. Both knives were aged. Beware! SKIP
