fstop61 Posted March 29, 2015 Share #1 Posted March 29, 2015 Just picked up this poster from eBay-depicts a navy corpsman tending to a wounded marine?. Measures 17" x 22" on a very thin-stock (definitely wasn't meant to be saved). also contains a quote by Gen. David N.W. Grant, AAF Air Surgeon. Thanks for looking
gwb123 Posted March 30, 2015 Share #2 Posted March 30, 2015 Very dramatic. As far as the paper... I was discussing this with a member of the Omaha Library staff, which has a selection of both WWI and WWII posters. The WWI posters are actually in better shape as a number of them are mounted on a heavier paper. The WWII ones are all deteriorating.
RustyCanteen Posted March 30, 2015 Share #3 Posted March 30, 2015 That is a very effective poster. You can't exactly say 'no' without the implication a wounded Marine's life depended on your particular donation. RC

As far as the quality of WWOne versus WWTwo posters I agree, though there are exceptions to this -I've handled printings from both era's and have seen a wide range of paper used-from newsprint quality to a better 30lb (or more) weight (not sure if this was by design or necessity). I'd love one day to see Omaha's collection.
