All my 1943 manufactured M1 Carbines have 1943 Kanak muzzle covers and 1943 dated mag pouches on the buttstocks. All my 1944 manufactured ones have Kanak 1944 muzzle covers (OD 7) and 1944 dated mag pouches on the buttstocks. BTW, finding 1944 dated magazine pouches (Type I) in OD is a little challenging.
