I think I'm going to laugh, what do you guys think?

1st time I've ever seen it, for obvious reasons....the ribbons don't match up at all...

In the future, would you mind posting pics from the listing in the thread? Otherwise, when the eBay auction goes away, then this entire thread is worthless. I know that might not seem like a big deal, but it then requires a moderator to go in, read the thread to verify that it's useless (by that point a year or more old) and then delete it. It takes just as long to add a screen shot or two to your thread in order to make it a good reference thread that people can refer back to in the future.

Thanks.

Dave

P.S. The top ribbon isn't a DSM, if that's what you're referring to.

While we're discussing it, if someone can ID the top ribbon, that would be appreciated.

The other ribbons look fine (and I don't know Marine Marksman badges, so I can't comment on those...)

The bottom two rows show a believeable amount of wear, especially for a late war Marine who was sent over for occupation duty in China. Possibly added, but nothing that screams they aren't appropriate for the jacket. The top ribbon is the odd ball, but none of us questions a uniform with a VFW ribbon or something like it which wasn't worn during the war, so if someone can figure out if that is a local community award or something like that, it would make sense if the vet added it later. However, it's an unnamed uniform, so if someone wants it as a representative piece, it'd be fine for that. Pay a sum of the parts price and be happy.

Apologies for the mistaken ID on the top ribbon, DSM was the closest thing I could find!

Dave, sure, I'll gladly take screen shots. Ebay's viewer has been acting up lately. Makes to browser refresh when I try to enlarge images...

Looks SUPER light...probably why the other side fell off! I think I see some on the stripe, but it's nothing overtly obvious, that's for sure!

Dave thanks for the blow up of the strip showing the thread. It is very hard to see. And I have a few marine uniforms with one strip Kadet. It was not uncommon. Or like Dave said ,It fell off.

If it was only on the right sleeve, I'd think one chevron fell off, but since it's on the left, I'm leaning toward it being a case of just a single chevron worn.

Jacket looks fine to me and $100 is a fair price IMO. Well ribbons can sometimes be an indicator of a put together or humped up uniform I think it's extremely important that people (Vet's , Family's ,Kids..ect) often monkey around with ribbons for any number of reason's. Hence why I never judge the authenticity of a uniform based solely on something like ribbon bars.

My $0.05
