Early MACV/MAAG Advisor Pictures from Album

[63 RECON]

I purchased this photo album off another forum member a few years ago. It came with a MACV SSI and some SVN money. A few pics have captions but unfortunately I am yet to ID the guy.

 

I'll post a few pics now and the rest when i get time.

1st pic September 5, 1965

 

2nd pic OCT 65, A Boat the VC sunk see our out-post across river

 

3rd pic AUG 65, This is the river we have to cross every time I go to Saigon This is the ferry we have to cross on. w boats built together with wood

1st pic - AUG 65 A Vietnamese boat notice eyes on front to give good luck. All boats have eyes painted on front.

 

2nd pic - OCTOBER 1965 These are the V.C. we captured about 25 miles from Saigon at 2400hrs midnight they all has chinese made guns. Note their homemade shoes.

we captured 9 in this group. These are all communist.

1st pic - NOV 65 These are some of the 900 men i work with - here the company commander is thanking them for just repelling a V.C attack.

 

Note their uniform - shoes - but good fighters.

I tried to scan this in the hope to see the name tapes but you can only get a glimpse of one or two letters. The left hand guy has WEN but that's all that's visible. Guy on right is same man from previous pics.

The last photo is reversed. If you flip it, you may be able to read his name tape.

Any ID on what ARVN unit that is (or perhaps a photo showing their insignia)?

Not in any of these pics unfortunately but i have a couple more that do have some insignia but I'm unsure if they are from the same guy.
