I've got a couple of examples without the, (what I believe to be), corrosion protective tape on the throat of the sheath that have started showing the wear from the spring metal retainer inside the sheath. The condition had already started when I got them from the previous owner. Maybe part of the reason I didn't pay more for them. When you obtain an example that is so nice, IMHO I think it behooves the owner to try their best to maintain it's condition. Certainly I feel it's in the owners best interest. Congratulations!
