Fred Posted March 6, 2015 Share #1 Posted March 6, 2015 My grandfather brought back some de-activated WWII Japanese small munitions. I have been able to ID all but one. I recall when I was 10 he explaning it was a "toe Mortar". It was designed to shoot one bullet vertically when stepped on. It is about 3" OD and 4" tall with a rubber-like cap. Has anyone ever heard of something like this? I can post pics. Thanks, Fred
TheGrayGhost Posted March 6, 2015 Share #2 Posted March 6, 2015 Pictures are always helpful. This topic will likely get moved or may be deleted since this is not technically a US item. You may have better luck posting in the "Spoils of War" section.

The second item is a WWI Brandt mortar shell that I was able to ID. If anyone has any feedback on the toe mine, I would sure appreciate it.
