bayonetman Posted March 4, 2015 Share #1 Posted March 4, 2015 While cleaning out some old boxes, I ran into a couple of photos. Unfortunately I have no idea who the soldier is are or when it was taken. I am assuming post 1902 because of the saber, and an officer from all the braid. The photo is darker than it appears, I lightened it up some to show detail. The card it is mounted on is about 11 x 5 inches, the actual photo is 9 x 3 1/2 inches. Bottom of the card is embossed (hard to read) Chadbourne / Studio / Concord N.H. Any information (rank, time period, etc.) will be appreciated. Dirk Posted March 4, 2015 Share #2 Posted March 4, 2015 Looks like a 1902 pattern Colonels dress uniform. To me, the dark card stock the image is mounted on, I will guess dates between the early 1900's and before WWI.

Terry K. Posted March 5, 2015 Share #4 Posted March 5, 2015 Everything looks like 1902 to me as Dirk said, Hat, sword and uniform all 1902
Cavdoc83 Posted March 6, 2015 Share #5 Posted March 6, 2015 From the aiguillette, the rank, the dark trousers, and the lack of branch (corps) insignia, I would figure General Staff. Could we assume that lack of branch insignia would place him above Brigade level? The eagle on the cap appears to be the National eagle. Does that preclude him being State Troops? How many of those guys could there be in the Army at that time? It shouldn't be too hard to name this fellow.
bayonetman Posted March 6, 2015 Author Share #6 Posted March 6, 2015 Head and shoulders in case this would be any help, although I really don't expect to be able to name him. Photo from Concord New Hampshire which might narrow it down some?
