I was given this bag as a gift today from a dear friend. The tag is missing from the inside but it appears to be a flight helmet bag.

It is named to "Major John B. Morris Jr."

This unit was stationed at Robins AFB, GA, 8 January 1966–15 August 1971

In Memoriam - Rest In Peace, Sir!

An online search revealed an obituary (a little over 6 years ago this month) for whom I believe is the individual named on this bag. It is listed partially below:

"John B. Morris, Jr., 75, entered into rest on Wednesday, February 11, 2009."

"Mr. Morris was born on May 22, 1933 in Whiting, New Jersey. He served his country with pride and honor as a pilot in U. S. Air Force, participated in the Vietnam Conflict and retired with 20 years of service, having attained the rank of Major. His awards include the Bronze Star, the Air Medal and the Purple Heart. He subsequently worked for Mercer University..."

A separate search revealed an obituary reference which may have been for his mother, three years earlier, April 6, 2006. It in part reads: "Erma eloped with John B. Morris, Jr. ("Jack") at age sixteen. They caught a train to Philadelphia and tied the knot. To their 62-year marriage were born two children, John B. Morris, Jr., a retired Air Force Major living in Warner Robbins, Georgia,..."

I don't know what the serviceable tag was for. I had to carefully remove three staples to reveal the log dates. I will be replacing them as found.
