Flight Surgeon Wings? - Current issue Coast Guard Flight Surgeon wings

I'm not really sure what these are but they have the medical cadeusus on a pilots wing. Made by Vanguard marked V-21 CG. These are not typical Navy flight Surgeon wings so can anyone tell me what specialty and when these would have been worn? I know Air Force these I have no references for. Happy Hunting.

Nice badge. One I've never noticed before. Thought USCG all wore the same USN qualification badges. Wonder how many Flight Surgeons there are in the USCG?

The USCG has many new and strange qualification badges. One of these days I'll have to find the time (and some $$$) to track them all down. Vanguard has a pretty good site:
