Hodge Podge of stuff

I forgot to say that these were supposed to have belonged to the same soldier.....next are what I think are medical bottles of some sort, since they have rubber stoppers in them..the bottoms are marked "U.S.A. Type III"....any ideas?????

...and some well-used boots...I couldn't get a shot of the whole stamp, but they're dated 1951..also inside one of them was the scrap of paper......

..he said this was a military "oil can"...but it reminds me of the gas cans you saw in the movie Pearl Harbor that they were pulling our of the B-25s....again, any ideas??? It's about 14 inches tall, and 9.5 inches square. The screw cap covers a spout that pulls out too....

I don't know...they're only about 4 inches tall....

During the Vietnam war our C-Ration pound cake was made by the National Bisquit Company in Nashville, Tennessee.

We would fight over a can of Pound Cake, and a can of Peaches. We never had streak so we had to amuse ourselves some way!

I wonder if the Pound Cake is still good?

 

I guess there is only one way to find out.

 

Noooooo....... There was a Youtube video out couple years ago of some yahoo who decided to try eating expired Vietnam era rations. It was kind of like watching a train wreck about to happen.. you knew how it was going to turn out, but still had to watch. His reward for ruining these relics was a very foul mouthful of 30 year old food. The look on his face was priceless, but I sincerely hope he did not have to get his stomach pumped!
