robinb Posted January 29, 2015 Share #1 Posted January 29, 2015 One of these has been on my want list since 1979. I did some trading with a friend last weekend and now the hunt is over. Only 3500 were procured during WW1. This one is a restoration, as many are. I still need to find the butt plate and the lower band that retains the wooden hand guard. spagg Posted January 30, 2015 Share #10 Posted January 30, 2015 Great find. I had a chance to buy one last year, it was converted from a WWI era prison riot gun to a WWII trench gun. I should have pulled the trigger! I guess it was the old saying, you snooze you lose!! LOL
Garandomatic Posted January 30, 2015 Share #11 Posted January 30, 2015 THAT is a cool shotgun... The wood handguard is very interesting. I inherited a civilian model from a family member, and if I recall, I think it was the basis for the Ithaca Model 37 design.

thorin6 Posted January 21, 2020 Share #16 Posted January 21, 2020 I've been restoring a WW2 Winchester M12 Trench gun for about 2 years now. Missing one piece, in need of some refinishing, and it's been slow going. I understand how hard it is to complete a project like this, so congratulations on a nice gun.
