DeuceGI Posted January 27, 2015 Share #2 Posted January 27, 2015 A plastic oiler was developed during WWII for use with the various service rifles. Its a clear plastic with yellow caps on either end. One cap contains a wire oil dipper. The clear plastic tended to yellow and darken over time. This type of oiler was also produced into the 1950s. The date for WWII production that I've heard most often is 1943. This is not my photo, but will give you a good idea of what to look for: HTH Tim
ThompsonSavage Posted January 27, 2015 Share #3 Posted January 27, 2015 The plastic oiler can be found in the May 1943 dated ordnance catalog.
