plastic oiler used in WW2

Would like to buy a plastic oiler that holds oil and cleaning brushes for the m1 rifle. I was wondering if someone could tell me if they came out during ww2 if so what yr.? Also where they clear plasic or dark

A plastic oiler was developed during WWII for use with the various service rifles. Its a clear plastic with yellow caps on either end. One cap contains a wire oil dipper. The clear plastic tended to yellow and darken over time. This type of oiler was also produced into the 1950s. The date for WWII production that I've heard most often is 1943. This is not my photo, but will give you a good idea of what to look for:
