cbuehler Posted January 23, 2015 Share #1 Posted January 23, 2015 All, I have seen a few jackets that have name tapes or the shadow of one over the years. Were name tapes worn at some time by all or were they worn only by a specific unit? I do know that they appeared on 101st jackets, but what about 82nd jackets? Thanks much, CB
jkash23686 Posted January 23, 2015 Share #2 Posted January 23, 2015 They were worn during training from what I know. Not sure if there was anything specific to unit as far as differences etc.

Tom Kibler Posted January 24, 2015 Share #4 Posted January 24, 2015 This jump jacket was worn by Lt. John E. Scheaffer D/504 as he jumped into Gela Sicily and Salerno, Italy. This jacket was speacial and he kept it apart from his other bring-back stuff. His name-tape is mis-spelled and hend sewn. He went through Toccoa with 2/506th and volunteered for a unit re-assignment, finding himself going to North Africa in 43.
