awmartin Posted January 20, 2015 Share #1 Posted January 20, 2015 I've had this for a while and have never been able to identify it. It looks Vietnam War era and looks to be self explanatory, but I for some reason haven't been able to find another like it.
468abnarm Posted January 20, 2015 Share #2 Posted January 20, 2015 ASMIC has this listed as 30th Infantry Division Recondo patch from the early 1970's. Have seen a few examples over the years and this one is the most "crisp" embroidering that I have ever seen.
awmartin Posted January 20, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted January 20, 2015 ASMIC has this listed as 30th Infantry Division Recondo patch from the early 1970's. Have seen a few examples over the years and this one is the most "crisp" embroidering that I have ever seen. Thank you for the information. Even with knowing what this is, I can't find any other examples. How rare is this? Here are some pictures of the back. Thank you once again. oneoldsoldier Posted February 7, 2017 Share #5 Posted February 7, 2017 awmartin, I realize this post is a couple of years old, but if you're checking in, do you still have the patch? I earned one of these in 1984 at Fort Bragg; 30th Infantry Brigade, formerly 30th Infantry Division. I lost mine in a house fire and have been looking for a replacement. The only other one I've seen lately is in the NCARNG museum. Turns out it was earned by a friend and fellow soldier in my same class 1-84, who unfortunately passed away last year. Donated by his wife. That particular Recondo school may have gone on for a couple more cycles, if that.
