skir Posted January 17, 2015 Share #1 Posted January 17, 2015 Here is a strange Bayonet scabbard which I think is for a M1 Garand bayonet. throat is typical( with flame grenade w/US) but the body is painted steel. OAL, from throat to tip of scabbard is 8 inches. Too short for a US WWII bayonet. Any ideas? Fantasy? Foreign issue??? Thanks for any input. bayonetman Posted January 17, 2015 Share #2 Posted January 17, 2015 Shortened and rebuilt for the shortened bayonets by the South Koreans. The bayonets had their blades thinned and shortened to fit the M8A1 scabbard, but some of the M7 scabbards were done this way. oldabewla Posted January 17, 2015 Share #3 Posted January 17, 2015 It's South Korean made US M8 style scabbard conversion, made in metal not fibre.
