MattS Posted December 30, 2014 Share #3 Posted December 30, 2014 Try searching M1860 staff sword, I think that's it. Here's one for $750. http://www.jjmilitaryantiques.com/Home.aspx/catdet/Spr60sf?nm=Springfield%20Armory%20M1860%20Staff%20&%20Field%20Sword%20EARLY&category=Group#.VKIPXADYA

sundance Posted December 30, 2014 Share #5 Posted December 30, 2014 Does it have a maker's name on it?
Tim Posted January 13, 2015 Share #6 Posted January 13, 2015 It was made by the Gaylord Mfg. Co., Chickopee MA, ca 1872 to 1882. Described as a 502 in the Ames Catalog. Though similar to the M1860 and having the same scabbard, it should be considered non-regulation.
