ADMIN Posted July 10, 2008 Share #71 Posted July 10, 2008 EXCELLENT grouping! It really brings a personal face to a war that for many today seems nearly forgotten, as sadly the last of its veterans pass into history.

Nice newsclipping/documents about his wound and the award of the Purple Heart and nice to see it was a Navy Type I. vicjoy1945 Posted July 10, 2008 Share #75 Posted July 10, 2008 Hey Dennis !! Thanks for the detail pics !! What I would expect...Mint-manufactured Type I Navy Purple Heart !! And multi-piece WWI period Navy Cross !! And I absolutely LOVE the portrait and USMC Aviators ID. Great stuff !! Incredible history !! I'm more of WWII type-of-guy but I really appreciate the significance and history of this fine grouping Vic
