Just was browsing through the new titles recently posted up by Schiffer Publishing at: http://www.schifferbooks.com/new-products/ and came across several books coming out next year by our own forum members! Of course, I will admit, I was looking for my book, so I'm a little biased... :D

First up (with a June release) will be the book by kanemono, China Horse Marine: http://www.schifferbooks.com/china-horse-marine-john-r-angstadt-u-s-m-c-american-legation-peiping-china-1934-1937-5742.html

In August, my book will be out, Blue Seas, Red Stars: http://www.schifferbooks.com/blue-seas-red-stars-soviet-military-medals-to-u-s-sea-service-recipients-in-world-war-ii-5732.html

And in October, the much-anticipated Volume II of Yankee Air Pirates as discussed in http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/171741-yankee-air-pirates-us-air-force-uniforms-and-memorabilia-of-the-vietnam-war/ will be released: http://www.schifferbooks.com/yankee-air-pirates-u-s-air-force-uniforms-and-memorabilia-of-the-vietnam-wara-volume-2-5801.html

If there are any other authors on here who have books coming out in 2015, please post them up here! (I don't know all the real names of all the forum members, so I am certain I've missed someone!)

Always in the market for another book!!! :)

Dave, congratulations on the pending release of your book!

Since you ask, I have another book of my own, Heroes In Our Midst, Vol III, due for relase sometime in the spring. This is part of a five volume study of the WWII U. S. Airborne Forces. When the series is complete, it will number approximately 3,000 pages of history. It is possible that Vols IV and V will be released in 2016. All volumes will give you an opportunity to take advantage of your Forum discount. Jack Angolia

Dave-

Very cool title for your book. Who came up with that?

Kurt

Thanks Kurt! I came up with it...and I thought Schiffer was going to change it until they sent me the cover art for approval. :D Apparently, they liked it as well!

Dave,

Thank you for posting the link. I had not realized that Schiffer had started to communicate about volume two!

124cav,

The Horse Marine book will include over two hundred never before published photographs (many full page), drawings of China Horse Marines by John W. Thomason, China worn Horse Marine uniform and covers, medals and insignia, horse equipment and a possibly unique Mounted Detachment patch. There are chapters on Horse Marines on patrol in Nicaragua and Haiti. Most of the material in the book is from a large grouping brought home from China by John R. Angstadt who served in the Mounted Detachment from 1934-1937. The Nicaragua and Haiti Horse Marine material is from period photo albums. I hope this book will help shed light on a unique aspect of Marine Corps history.
