Salvage Sailor Posted December 15, 2014 Share #1 Posted December 15, 2014 Aloha Everyone, Here's another odd patch, measures 2 1/4" x 3" SAR - Obviously Search and Rescue but whose?

Grant S. Posted August 7, 2015 Share #3 Posted August 7, 2015 Rare to see a patch without any sort of unit ID, so perhaps Coast Guard Auxiliary? Or, given the map of the world and the baby blue color, something UN related?
Teamski Posted August 7, 2015 Share #4 Posted August 7, 2015 My feeling is that it isn't US. -Ski
gwb123 Posted August 8, 2015 Share #5 Posted August 8, 2015 My feeling is that it isn't US. -Ski I was thinking the same thing.
Salvage Sailor Posted August 8, 2015 Author Share #6 Posted August 8, 2015 If this is not US, it's the global map that's throwing me. Obviously aerial Search and Rescue (Pelican, preserver, and duh, SAR) but who else would have world wide SAR capabilities? UK? France? Birdwatchers? Wharfmaster Posted November 12, 2015 Share #8 Posted November 12, 2015 Aloha, I would think United Nations Sea Search related. Somehow. Wharf
firefighter Posted November 12, 2015 Share #9 Posted November 12, 2015 I have seen this patch before in a group, could have been this one. I thought it was id'd as something British????
ocsfollowme Posted November 12, 2015 Share #10 Posted November 12, 2015 It has UN colors.... I know that there are some SAR organizations out there. I would contact them to start.
Teamski Posted November 12, 2015 Share #11 Posted November 12, 2015 I'm leaning towards something Italian or Spanish...... -Ski
firefighter Posted November 12, 2015 Share #12 Posted November 12, 2015 Could be an older USCG. They flew the HH-3F "Pelican". HH-3F "Pelican" Long-range search and rescue helicopter for the US Coast Guard, 40 built.

ComputerChris Posted April 17, 2017 Share #14 Posted April 17, 2017 It might be a stretch, but What about Louisiana? Louisiana is pretty much synonymous with the pelican... I found one patch searching Louisiana search and rescue with a similar color scheme but a different picture. .
