AAF_Collection Posted December 14, 2014 Share #1 Posted December 14, 2014 Hi, Can anyone please tell me the correct term for the harness worn by the flag bearer in this picture? or is it as obvious as "flag bearers harness"?. I am looking for an original WWII example of the harness and the correct period flag pole, pole top and flag with braided tassels. Also interested in seeing other WWII photos of color guards, especially AAF. Thanks, Matt.
Rolf Posted December 14, 2014 Share #2 Posted December 14, 2014 Current nomenclature for the harness is: SLING, Flagstaff, OD (Color Guard) EA 8345-00-250-0919 Obviously the white harness will have a different NSN.
Mr.Jerry Posted December 15, 2014 Share #3 Posted December 15, 2014 The WWII ones aren't white, they are khaki. Usually unmarked. I have a few different ones in my own collection, i will see if I can dig out & photo.
