bazelot Posted December 5, 2014 Share #1 Posted December 5, 2014 I just got a huge grouping named to Ensign James Patrick Tiffin a VC-70 pilot who saw action in the Pacific from May 45 to the end of the war. He was particularly active in June, July and August '45 with strikes on Okinawa and submarine patrols. The grouping consists of 3 flight helmets with 2 pairs of goggles, log book, his M-422A flight jacket, 3 VC-70 patches, custom rigger made aluminium notepad, 2 chits, VC70 squadron book, pictures, headsets, dress hat, nametags, dog tags, medals, ribbons, books, notes, ray ban glasses, holster, knike with sheaf, compass, mirrors with rigger made pouch, 5 extra name tags, his pilot ring, some survival stuff and other things not pictures. I got everything directly from the family. The escort carrier VC-70 was on (USS Salamaua CVE-96) was the first to enter Tokyo Bay in August 45.
