As you can see, the leather grip has about disintegrated into its component parts, and has lost some rings - It was like this 30 years ago, have had it for about that long.
The USMC marked Ka-bar blade is super dull, but not that badly rusted.

The scabbard is fascinating.
It appears to be owner marked Gary Fruik.
I tried years ago tracking him down, no joy, and have about given up hope.
Sure not a common name though.

On the reverse is marked his pivotal stops.
* San Diego
* Camp Pendleton
* Pearl Harbor
* Guadalcanal
* Mog mog

If this could talk, what a story it would tell !
