People might just be waiting till the last minute, or in my case 3 seconds. I bid on a pair of experimental goretex and gaiters and at the last three seconds three people bid and when the page refreshed as they bid I had no time to bid.

There may just be more watchers than anything right now..it could always turn into a bidding war in the last few minutes

I don't see any real problems. The scabbard is mid to late 1960s. I see what possibly is black paint on the latchplate and the blade color is very even and that MAY indicate a post-war refinish, but overall if it stays near that price it would be worth a bid.

I had the same thing happen recently. Bid stayed in the $35 range until about 2 minutes to go, I wanted it so threw in a $50 bid, and was outbid so I went $75 in the last 20 seconds and it ended up at $135 (I would not have gone that high anyway).

They use sniping software companies. I do what eBay recommends (click on the link) and let the chips fall where they may.

Many do use the sniping software and I know a few people myself, but as long as I've been buying stuff on ebay I've habitually waited until the last few seconds and just manually threw in my bids. I'd say I won most of the stuff I really intended to own, never really had bad luck putting in a last minute bid to an item I wanted with a bunch of watchers. You gotta find that 3 second sweet spot!

Leatherwringer

up to $76 now....I'm sure this thread gave it some exposure :D

I have seen it happen alot here....it is a catch 22...a person wants some verification on an item....but it ends up costing them the item...or more $$$

While it's possible that exposure here has created a few more bidders, leather handled USGI M4 bayonets always attract attention and most folks here who are interested in M4 bayonets most likely are aware of the ebay auctions.
