Going through a German photo book published 1941 dealing with the French campaign in 1940, this picture caught my eyes. I learned something about the U.S. volunteer ambulance corps online but had no success concerning the SSVA abrevation. Caption says: "American help for the British Red Cross"

Is this an a British or a U.S. truck and what does SSVA stands for? Thanks for your help in advance!

Lars

P.S.: Nice camo pattern btw.

It looks to me like a late 1930s or early 1940s Plymouth truck - Google 1940 Plymouth truck and you will see similar trucks.

I don't know what the S.S.V.A. stands for, but wonder if the V.A. part might stand for Volunteer Ambulance.
