Bebel Posted November 22, 2014 Share #1 Posted November 22, 2014 The three L-2A jacket contractors I'm knowing. 4th Fighter Bomber Wing / 334th Fighter Squadron: A. Pritzker & Sons (the 4th FIW had been redesignated 4th FBW in 1955 after coming back from Korea. It was stationned at Chitose AFB in Japan at this time) 4750th Air Defense Wing (Weapons) / 117th Target Tow Squadron: L.W. Foster Sportswear 96th FIS and 449th FIS: Superior Togs Does any other version exist? (I'd displayed both them in the past on the forum. But the some of my posts have lost pictures after the forum new regulation. So, I do share them again with you having made new pictures recently.) Bebel Posted August 12, 2016 Author Share #9 Posted August 12, 2016 Good to see them! I've sold my post-war aviation collection. Although I've kept the 4th FBW/334th FIS one. Franck

McDermut99 Posted March 17, 2017 Share #13 Posted March 17, 2017 Wow, that is a very nice jacket, and a prototype nonetheless! I can't imagine many of those are still around. Thanks for sharing it!
vintageproductions Posted March 17, 2017 Share #14 Posted March 17, 2017 Wow, that is a very nice jacket, and a prototype nonetheless! I can't imagine many of those are still around. Thanks for sharing it! They are great jackets but the sad part is there are a lot around. These jackets were issued from the late 1940's - the early 1980's. Usually issued only to General's but you will see a few Colonel's also.
McDermut99 Posted March 17, 2017 Share #15 Posted March 17, 2017 They are great jackets but the sad part is there are a lot around. These jackets were issued from the late 1940's - the early 1980's. Usually issued only to General's but you will see a few Colonel's also. I wasn't aware there are a lot around. Do they go by another name/designation? I've never had much luck finding many original examples online. Lots of reproductions though.
vintageproductions Posted March 18, 2017 Share #16 Posted March 18, 2017 These are usually referred to as General's Experimental jackets by collectors, not sure what the actual name is. They are cut like a L2A but are made out of cotton / gaberdine, not nylon.

kammo-man Posted March 18, 2017 Share #21 Posted March 18, 2017 Regardless. The AG L-2 is beyond in a much different higher level than the simple common cloth version.
American Graffiti Posted March 18, 2017 Share #22 Posted March 18, 2017 Ta guru! Thanks O, praise indeed The L-2A is one of the nicer flight jackets IMHO and rightly so highly prized by collectors Anybody care to show any more? AG
Ronnie Posted March 26, 2017 Share #23 Posted March 26, 2017 Here's one that I got from the widow. I actually ended up with a bunch of flight gear on that particular weekend. Had two blue fight jackets and four sage green jackets....three are pictured here.
