38Driver Posted November 22, 2014 Share #4 Posted November 22, 2014 652nd Bomb Squadron was a heavy weather recon squadron station in England. The patches on the jackets of the guys in the first photos look to be 652 nd. It appears APO 959 was Wheeler Field Hawaii. This was info from a quick Google search
COOKIEMAN Posted November 22, 2014 Share #5 Posted November 22, 2014 Last photo with the B-24s and trainers. Hanger is marked "SPARTAN". I'm thinking this is Spartan Aircraft Company, Municipal Airport, Tulsa OK.
usaaf93 Posted November 24, 2014 Author Share #6 Posted November 24, 2014 Hello and thanks to all of you for the help. What do you think 652 operations refers to on one of the pictures ? It is dated 1945 on the back. I tried to goggle this but I did not find anything. Thanks again

5thwingmarty Posted November 25, 2014 Share #8 Posted November 25, 2014 The crashed B-17s were part of the 99th BG based in Italy. This is a photo of the results of a taxi accident on April 4, 1944 which ruined both planes. Prior to the accident the planes had flown a combined total of three missions. Both planes were then salvaged.
