I will be at the Allentown Forks of the Delaware gun show on Saturday December 6 and Sunday December 7 with a display of the 18 different varieties of Colt stamped US M7 bayonets that I have in my collection as well as some rare and unusual M7s. Posting this just in case any members would be interested in stopping by and checking out some of my best M7s.

I will post pics of the display and any new M7s that I may run across. The display will have the brown handle prototype, the 3 green handle versions by Universal Industries, Imperial, Milpar, Haitian and Eickhorn M7s.......dating from 1961 to 2009, all Colt marked on the blades. I will also have the M7 Sniper leather handle M7 and the Product Improved M7 and several other rare and unusual M7s.

Wish I could make it, but the Doc. says I won't be going anywhere for the near future.

Do you have one of the BOC patent wire cutter versions? I saw one many years ago, didn't realize what it really was at the time. I would assume that only a few test models were made.

Gary wish you could be there also, but your health comes first. I do expect to meet you one day. I have never actually seen one of the BOC wirecutter M7s but have heard of them as well as some wirecutter versions produced through Rock Island Arsenal.

Thorin6, the one you showed that was sold was an Eickhorn wirecutter made in 1976, not the 60s, and it was not made for the US Military at all, it was a commercial M7 produced by Carl Eickhorn Company when they were coming out of a bankruptcy and were making many different versions of the M7.

Ccyooper......thanks for posting that pic. That is basically the same display I will have on December 6 and 7 in Allentown. I am going to add some additional rare and unusual M7s to the display. Once again, thanks for posting that pic.

It's great to see that display. On the lower left, there's a bayonet which seems to be missing the barrel ring. What is the story about that one?

Marv.....the bayonet you are speaking about is a one line Colt (COLT'S PTFA MFG CO HARTFORD CONN USA) prototype fighting knife that was made without the barrel ring and a different pommel. Everything else is a Universal Industries M7. Colt had the hopes of being able to make a fighting knife that would get a government contract. I have seen the original blueprint for this fighting knife. It never got past the prototype stage and I am not sure how many were produced or if they were even ever submitted for testing.

Bill has a fantastic Colt M7 bayonet display. Many items you can only see in books or on the net where there to actually handle and examine. From the ultra early brown and green handled bayonets made for the early Colt's with brown and green furniture it is impressive to see them all in one place. I spent some time talking with Bill and his brother John at the display and talked to a few folks walking by. It was a great time to talk bayonets and give an education to many just strolling past, Bill may have even converted a few folks to bayonet collecting when they see the variety to be had.

Well Done Bill, it is an outstanding display.

Spent a few hours wondering around the show, bought a few knives and a bayonet or two. As always it is a great show for edged items.

All the best

Well, the Allentown show was a good one. Saw Frank and spoke to alot of people interested in M7s. One guy was telling me how he had bought a green handled Colt/Armalite from a guy in Texas and it was one of the ones a guy out there has been making on his own and selling as originals. He was taken for over $800.

I had 22 different types of Colt M7s on display. 11 American made and 11 different Eickhorn varieties.
