bellasilva Posted November 9, 2014 Share #2 Posted November 9, 2014 She's purdy, congrats! Out of curiosity, how much did this run you, or at least what is it approximately worth? I ask because I've been eyeing one in almost identical condition at a local antique shop.
byf41 Posted November 9, 2014 Share #3 Posted November 9, 2014 The grooving you refer to was done by the mfg. Ive had several of these in various condition and all had it .
camillus Posted November 9, 2014 Author Share #4 Posted November 9, 2014 Hi, the auction ended at $41.55 + 8.00 shipping. how did the manufacturer do the grooving, was it the machine, It looks random. From what I have seen on ebay that is a good price for that condition. I have seen much worse for much more.
bellasilva Posted November 9, 2014 Share #5 Posted November 9, 2014 Interesting, thanks for the reply. The one for sale at the local antique shop is selling for $75, so I guess I can stand to wait a little longer for a less expensive example
Patchcollector Posted November 10, 2014 Share #6 Posted November 10, 2014 Nice knife.I like these "stout" workhorses.I've heard that the handle was "roughed up" so as to provide a better grip.
camillus Posted November 10, 2014 Author Share #7 Posted November 10, 2014 thanks, I lucked out again on ebay sometimes pic make thing out better than they are. From watching the prices on ebay 75.00 isn't bad remember on ebay you have to buy shipping as well. Look at it this way, you won't have to pay shipping and you can acctualy handle the knife and see defects that don't show in pics. Good luck Mike
Patchcollector Posted November 10, 2014 Share #8 Posted November 10, 2014 Interesting, thanks for the reply. The one for sale at the local antique shop is selling for $75, so I guess I can stand to wait a little longer for a less expensive example These are found fairly regularly for 40-60 bucks on eBay so unless that 75 dollar one you are looking at is in really mint shape,I think that you are wise to hold off and wait for a deal to come your way on eBay.
