Hope your recovery goes well, and your model is incrdible.

A lot of thought went into this. From the cardboard containers for the shells to the rations on the side of the bunker.. Excellent details..

You even captured the red clay/dirt from the area.

Tom,

first of all: good to see you are back again!

That's a great dio, thanks for sharing your pics here. Would you be so kind providing some more infos about the gun, the figures ammo boxes etc.? How did you build the ground? Would be great to read some more about how you did it!

Get well soon!

Lars

I purchased the base from Vietnam scale models. It comes in white plaster so I painted it and added additional ground cover with celluclay

the ammo boxes were made with different size balsa wood and I used dental floss for the handles

The shell containers were made from drinking straws painted black, cut and open containers were sealed at one by modeling clay the unopened ones were sealed at both ends

Thanks for all these additional infos. Great idea to make the shells, containers and spent shell casings the way you did; very realistic! I admire your patience to build all these ammo-boxes, wow! All in all superb results. In addition you saved a lot of money for sure.

Very nice. As Lars posted great way of making the spent shell casings and containers. I was with a 105mm howitzer battery when I was in so I still have a fond attachment to the one in the dio.

Semper Fi.
