Would someone care to share some photos of complete original Mann accoutrements, please? Preferably the Infantry set? I'm looking at an original set to purchase of belt, box, & braces however was recently told the cap boxes were frequently "cut off" & am not sure where they were on the set so not sure what to look for. I appreciate it.

I assume by "cut off" you are referring to an integral cap pouch on the box that has been removed. My recollection, however, is that the infantry boxes, whether for 40 or for 60, did not have the integral cap box to begin with. It does show up on some of the C.S. Storms manufactured cavalry boxes early on, but was dropped even from those when manufacture shifted to Gaylord.

The cap pouches I have seen on Mann sets, which I believed were original to the sets, were Gaylord marked examples of the cap box with no inner flap and the side ears sews to the outer flap- that is, the cap box version of the first type of July 1864 pattern cartridge boxes (the standard .58 caliber infantry box made with no inner flap.)
