dan_the_hun84 Posted October 21, 2014 Share #1 Posted October 21, 2014 Has anyone seen or have a current production At The Front winter combat "tanker" jacket? I have always been a fan of ATF but I have never seen one of these from them. The pic on the website shows the zipper going all the way to the top of the collar, I'm no great expert but that seems to be a boo-boo. I did own a WWII Impressions jacket, just wondering how the ATF compares.
Bellumbill Posted October 21, 2014 Share #2 Posted October 21, 2014 The new ATF jackets IMHO are not as good as previous runs nor are they as good as the current WWII Impressions jacket. ATF's are too green, as you mention zipper zips all the way up the collar, and the wrist knits are not tubular but sewn together (perhaps minor to some). I also believe that the knits are too thick as compared to the four originals I own, three of which are tagged and dated. Best, Bill K.

Thanks for the info, the "seamed" cuffs and the color I think I could live with but the zipper all the way up the collar I think would be a deal killer. Bellumbill Posted October 21, 2014 Share #4 Posted October 21, 2014 Dan - Any decent tailor should be able to knock that zipper down for you. I did it with both of my older run ATF tankers. I swapped out the knits with a set from WWII Impressions - don't know if he is still selling those, but I could have lived with the knits if I had to. What I can't live with is the color, which I believe is simply too green on this current run. Cut of the jacket between ATF and WWII Impressions is about the same, with the ATF jackets being cut a bit more generously. Bill K.
