Cold Bay Alaska Knife Shop?

I came across this photo in one of my albums, and thought it may be appropriate here. This graffiti was placed on the hut shortly before the occupants were to move from Cold Bay to the Island of Attu in the summer of 1943. The writing appears to name a J Panerese as a theater knife manufacturer. The man in the picture I believe to be the owner of the album. All I know is his first name was Ralph, and the album appears to have pictures of him both in Navy and Army uniforms. I would love to find a knife with provenance to this maker, but I know there is about a zero percent chance of that. I have seen lots of knives attributed to Alaska, usually by artwork on the sheath, but I have never seen one attributed to Cold Bay. I was just curious if anyone else had?
