ram957 Posted October 21, 2014 Share #1 Posted October 21, 2014 This may seem like an odd question but does anyone know what material the main data plate for a P-39 (built in1942) was made from ? I have a few data plates from a variety of aircraft and they are all made of metal. I've been given the opportunity to purchase a P-39 data plate. It measures 3 1/2" x 2" and is made of a type of composite material(not metal). I am wondering if it is legitimate . Any help is appreciated ! JDK Posted October 23, 2014 Share #3 Posted October 23, 2014 Very cool item!! It sure looks to be the real deal to me, but I am far from a expert on A/C data plates. Like yourself, all that I have seen have been metal. JD
