New, looked like never worn old school woodland blouse, S/R. $10 if I remember correctly. No picture, its buried in one of my ALICE pack as field cammies.

Ok not really a uniform, and technically my friend found it, but it was found at Goodwill for $35 last week. It was framed and I let him keep the frame. Sadly no ID. But sterling WW2 wings!

Just found a nice pair of '44 dated officers pink class A trousers trousers and a woodland BDU 10th mtn patched shirt for $14. The sad part was they had a very nice '42 dated reversible ski parka for $40 but someone painted their high school local on both the white and green sides. Such a shame, It had nice fur too!

I have found only two militaria related items at Goodwill this year. One of them is a FORSCOM DCU with theater made 3rd ID patch and theater made name tape.

I have seen a lot of these jackets re-used by schools after WWII.

Stinger Gunner USMC

Here was Saturday's Salvation Army find with the costumes. Named and patched 5th Marine Division shirt with CPL stripes, discharge diamond and his P41 shirt that was turned into his son's anti war movement shirt. Based on the Dallas Cowboys reference on the pocket I would date the writing to their 1971 championship.

  • 2 weeks later...

In addition to the 2nd ID 4-pocket jacket with a 3rd ID patch on the sleeve these are what I felt warranted "saving" from the thrift shops. I cannot find a photo of the 2nd ID Jacket.

First up is a 1960s jacket with mixed full color and subdued insignia a cut edge 172nd INF Brigade - $5.

Next is a 3rd Pattern Jungle Jacket previously posted - $5.

Next is a OG-107 with a Cut Edge 205th Infantry Brigade patch. You can see where the guy switch his first ID patch from the left t the right, as well as the ghost of where a pocket patch was worn. I am not sure why I bought this, but I can still sleep at night spending $7 on it.

Next was an unassuming find, a generic tan shirt. I wasn't expecting much on this one until I saw the Germany tab, I still wasn't to excited when I saw the 7th Army patch. Only until I fully pulled it off the rack did I see the Seven Steps to Hell Tab. This came home with me for $6.

Close up of the patches on the khaki shirt.

Next is a Korean War Ike jacket. The insignia is US Made and not to a combat unit, but the embroidered ribbon rack was the selling point. Picked this one up at a thrift store in the town my college is in for $10.

Finally the local thrift stores have finally produced a 34th Infantry Division DCU. I am still after the elusive bookended 34th DCU, or a DCU with theatre made patches, but I will count this in the Win category, especially for $5
