labelkills254 Posted October 5, 2014 Share #1 Posted October 5, 2014 I picked this up at a local auction. This is my first M3 so I am interested to hear your opinions on the knife. The blade is in perfect shape, but the handle shows more use/exposure.

thorin6 Posted October 5, 2014 Share #5 Posted October 5, 2014 I had an Imperial blade marked M3 where the blade was in near mint condition, but the handle had rotted away: carried a lot, but used very little. The pommel looks like it was painted, is that so?
SKIPH Posted October 5, 2014 Share #6 Posted October 5, 2014 A lot of M3s have black painted guards and pommels. It was a way to prevent rust or corrosion during storage, after the knives were turned back in. I have several that have been painted this way.
