tankerman Posted October 4, 2014 Share #2 Posted October 4, 2014 Nice piece. I have always admired PAL's quality. Kinda just like the name as well.
sactroop Posted October 5, 2014 Share #3 Posted October 5, 2014 That's really an exceptional example. Thanks for sharing. I passed one up today with a lot of finish wear and some lost blade material, USMC marked, no scabbard. The search continues.

bayonetman Posted October 24, 2014 Share #13 Posted October 24, 2014 nice knife, new as I am I would mistake it for a MK2 are they related some how It is a Mark 2 - PAL just never changed their marking from the first style. That is the only way PAL ever marked their production - no guard marked versions either.
sactroop Posted October 24, 2014 Share #14 Posted October 24, 2014 Did PAL stick with the red spacers though out production too?
bayonetman Posted October 24, 2014 Share #15 Posted October 24, 2014 Did PAL stick with the red spacers though out production too? To the best of my current knowledge, PAL did not make any changes during their production.
SKIPH Posted October 24, 2014 Share #16 Posted October 24, 2014 I have a MK2, simply stamped "PAL" on the blade. No USN, no USMC. Believe it has the red spacers, way too much work to dig it out of the safe at this moment to verify. Cole's Book III has it listed on page 87 (line drawing). tankerman Posted October 25, 2014 Share #19 Posted October 25, 2014 PAL blades are my favorites. As I reduce my collection I find myself putting those aside. For me, they just "feel" right in my hand. Of note, I have a REMINGTON made machete in my collection. not mint but so well marked. Thanks Gary and Skip.
