Loek Posted January 28, 2007 Share #1 Posted January 28, 2007 Hello, I made this drawing of a WW2 Market Garden paratrooper's equipment . My quistion: Is it complete? I'm now doing his underwear. Is there anything you would add to a WW2 Market Garden paratrooper's equipment? Thanks!

Allan H. Posted January 29, 2007 Share #4 Posted January 29, 2007 If hes meant to be a representive Rifleman, take away the .45, and shoulderpads Yes indeed, the pistol, M3 shoulder holster and the shoulder pads are not typical and would not represent the "average" rifleman. Depending on the Division that you are representing, and if you are talking about the trooper at the time of the jump, you might want to add his necktie (101st) and bandoliers. Normally, bandoliers wouldn't be worn on the jump but would definitely be there on the ground. Finally, your trooper should have his field dressing and canvas pouch on his pistol belt. Although they were issued the parachute first aid kit, which you have drawn, it was meant to suppliment the standard 1st aid dressing, not replace it. Remember those parachute kits were quite expensive to the government and troopers were encouraged not to open them until they REALLY needed them.
