pfrost Posted June 26, 2008 Share #1 Posted June 26, 2008 Maybe this can start a pinned thread. I started a small library of hallmarks of wings as I find them and posted them on my website here: I know a few of the rather rarer hallmarks have escaped me. Most of these hallmarks are from wings in my collection with a few images "borrowed" off of ebay http://pfrost.bol.ucla.edu/06.html Not a complete listing, but as I find them, I try to post them. I know a few other websites have some nice listing of wing and insignia hallmarks. Maybe they can be added to this thread. Also, (if I may) the WAF forum has a super nice detailed listing of companies that were involved in making wings, medals and insignia from about 1917 to yesterday. Patrick Link to comment
pfrost Posted June 27, 2008 Author Share #2 Posted June 27, 2008 Thanks for the nice words guys. I wish I had more time to really work on it and make it as nice as Bob's awsome WWII wings o'tha world site: http://www.ww2wings.com/main.shtml My friend Iain from the land of "shrimps on the barbi" and vegamite also has a very nice site--but I have to watch him carefully as he keeps stealing my good images...just kidding Iain! http://www.anaspides.net/Aviator%20wing%20...ion%20wings.htm And Paul Conrad has a very nice site as well with some fantastic wings and information. http://www.conradwings.com/ With this and other internet forums, these webpages, and a library of these wing books you can be as much an expert as anyone else. Paul S Posted July 7, 2008 Share #21 Posted July 7, 2008 Here is a scarce one. I've only found it on a small 1-1/2" pilot wing. Anyone know if Dodge made anything larger or different than the Pilot version. Link to comment
