Manchu Warrior Posted September 21, 2014 Share #1 Posted September 21, 2014 I found this photo at the flea market awhile back. When I first looked at it I thought it said something about Korea on the back. When I got home and looked up the ship and found out that it was in fact a troopship during the Korean War as well as WWII. I put it up on a shelf and I had looked at it for quite awhile until today. I had assumed it was bringing troops home from Korea but I now realize that it was bringing troops home from New Guinea during WWII. The photo was taken by the Fort Lewis Sentinel and it is rather large at 20" by 16". It is actually a nice clear photo and you can see many of the soldiers up on the deck I just cannot get a good photo of it.
