usaaf93 Posted September 20, 2014 Share #1 Posted September 20, 2014 Hello I just wanted to share with you this video I just found on the internet. It's pretty sad to think they ended up like this. There are some of the most beautiful nose art I have seen. Have a good day Julien
mdk0911 Posted September 20, 2014 Share #2 Posted September 20, 2014 cool video - a lot of planes and I think it would be cool if you could cut the nose art away and sell? talk about a war room mural piece!!
USdog Posted September 20, 2014 Share #3 Posted September 20, 2014 Interesting video. I would get lost in the field of planes checking all of them out and maybe a few nose arts would go missing?
mattsmilitary Posted September 20, 2014 Share #4 Posted September 20, 2014 Wow awesome movies. Some of the nose art is awesome!!! Thanks for posting
Garandomatic Posted September 20, 2014 Share #5 Posted September 20, 2014 There were some examples of people saving the nose art. A bar outside of Seattle had "Alice Blue Gown" in it for a long time, and was seen in an old Stone Temple Pilots video. I think the Confederate/COmmemorative Air Force wing in Arizona has a nice collection of it that was saved.

Lee Ragan Posted September 20, 2014 Share #7 Posted September 20, 2014 Not only does the Arizona Wing of the CAF have some, the biggest collection is with the CAF headquarters museum in Midland, Texas. There have been magazine articles over the years that show most of their collection.
Navybean Posted September 20, 2014 Share #8 Posted September 20, 2014 Great video but just breaks the heart to think that all of that history was just scraped.

Husker Posted October 1, 2014 Share #12 Posted October 1, 2014 Too bad those aircraft aren't just sitting sound today...I might have entered a new realm in my collecting and restoration hobby! Truly, a very sad ending for these beautiful flying machines!
WW2JAKE Posted October 10, 2014 Share #13 Posted October 10, 2014 i believe the dragon and his tail was scrapped there, the last b-24 to be scrapped. they have tons of planes still in the bone yard which you can tour during the week ALOT of B-52 bombers out there but they also have the museum which has alot of different aircraft.
