Butch O'Hare

I'm looking for a photo taken during Butch O'Hare's epic defense of LEX in FEB 42.

Taken from a screening ship it shows three Betty's splashing simultaneously. LEX

is pictured bow on. Seems like this was in LIFE long ago, but I can't find it in the

Google Life Image Archive now.

Help,

Owen

Thanks Fstop, that is one of a series of four shot from the flight deck of LEX.

I've got that one, need the one(s) from screening ships. I thought the photo

section would be the place to post about a photo...........Owen

Glad to have helped-this section is really for members having issues posting photos-your question probably would garner more attention in Military Discussions section. O'Hare was an awesome pilot-funny his greatest success was the shooting down of the three Betty's and ultimately a Betty caused his demise. Good luck with your search.

That's the one I've been looking for! Thanks so much! Obviously my memory of the angle of LEX was wrong, but the rest is spot on. I knew someone here would have the answer.

Gratefully,

Owen
