mmerc20 Posted September 13, 2014 Share #1 Posted September 13, 2014 Now that I have my repro uniform for giving talks and demonstrations I will be sewing a unit patch on the shoulder as soon as it arrives. It got me to thinking though, I have seen a lot of very nice, unique hand sewing jobs on shoulder patches and wanted to reach out for everyone to post their nice hand sewn patches. I have a really nice shirt with an Air Corps patch that the stitching is in a very fine X pattern all the way around, but don't have a picture at the moment. Please post yours! The_Brick Posted September 13, 2014 Share #2 Posted September 13, 2014 This isn't my best work, but I wanted to quickly sew on my repro 4th ID patch on my M41 and wanted to try a different sewing style normally my sewing style shows a bit more thread between stitches (circa 3mm of thread and 3 mm of space rather than the 1mm of thread I used for the 4th ID patch) making it look a bit like a sewing machine in my opinion. I have even contemplated on using the X method or even diagonal stitching
mmerc20 Posted September 16, 2014 Author Share #3 Posted September 16, 2014 This is one of those unique sewing jobs I was talking about. I have a pair of these these shirts both with corporal stripes and both with the same sewing job in the AAC patch. It's definitely one of my favorites. The shirts aren't named. Wake1941 Posted September 16, 2014 Share #4 Posted September 16, 2014 I always love on uniforms when they do an ornate cross stitching or chain stick around patches they just are works of art
tredhed2 Posted September 17, 2014 Share #5 Posted September 17, 2014 Both my mom and my wife described this as "varigated thread".
