Over the years, I've managed to pick up a modest collection of CBI-made bracelets for U.S. Army flight personnel which were individually made by local artisans and silver craftsmen in India during WWII. Although somewhat crude when compared to western jewelry standards, I find these masculine bracelets from the war handsome and very collector worthy. I'd sure like to see what other types of CBI bracelets are out there.

Thank you Mike...Thank you Matt...I appreciate your support.

These two bracelets are a little rough, but nicely detailed.

WOW!! Absolutely the best ID bracelet collection I've ever seen, let alone CBI bracelets! I'm always on the lookout for any ID bracelet from WWII but the CBI bracelets present a totally unique aspect to that collecting field, I love them!

Thank you all for your kind words and positive responses. There really is an artistic quality to many of these handmade bracelets. Not only were many inscribed as a second source of identification, they also served as a source of pride as "Been There" bling!

Here's another CBI example which was crafted from several pieces of silver and is very heavy. It was designed for an ATC Service Pilot, but never inscribed.

This US Army Air Force CBI bracelet is slightly different than the example depicted on the first page. No two bracelets are identical. It has a somewhat abstract eagle in brown enamel over two nicely detailed American flags.
