"GREETINGS & SALUTATIONS! Have been in contact with Rod Melendez who is from the Veterans Museum and Memorial Center on 2115 Park Boulevard, San Diego, California 92101. Their website is at: www.veteranmuseum.org or email them at [email protected] or telephone (619) 239-2300. Rod is working on getting images of United States Navy rates and other related images to show on their website, any help would be very welcome! He needs especially Uniform Regulation of the United States Navy for 1863. Available at my free website https://picasaweb.go....com/booker1942 are U.S.N. uniform regs for 1841, 1852 (USN & USMC issue), 1883, 1886, 1897, 1905, 1912, 1917 and the 1941 regs which were the last to have a few colour plates! Another good reference is at www.archive.org and www.scribd.com for e-books. We need to have more museums in every state and each major city, especially those with bodies of water! Perhaps someone could made a list of museums dedicated to the Air Force, Army, Marine Corps, Navy, N.O.A.A. and the U.S.P.H.S.! The people who the rates of the Navy and Coast Guard as well as the chevrons of the Air Force, Army and Marines contributed quite a lot of great photos and information on same, thus making it easier to date and describe them. Contact me at [email protected] if you have a brochure, chart, booklets, magazine, etc., showing insignia, military and naval flags, uniforms and insignia and get credit at the free website as we can use scans! Please do not send older rarer books as they can get lost in the postal system! Scan picture on a printer/scanner or a scanner, whatever works out best for you! We could use a forum for Military and Naval Museums and Centers, thanks, folks! Herbert Booker in the State of Florida
