Ben@HI Posted September 2, 2014 Share #5 Posted September 2, 2014 Looks like some of the repo helmet covers that poped up about 3 years ago. Looks bad to me but I am no expert on ww2 marine hats / covers
Phantomf4 Posted September 2, 2014 Author Share #6 Posted September 2, 2014 yeah I don't think it's legit, or it is a hat from another country.
Bob Hudson Posted September 3, 2014 Share #7 Posted September 3, 2014 The hat has a center pleat in the front, which is Army, not Marine, style. Throughout the forum we do have photos of HBT camo field caps being used, well, in the field, even though they were never official issue. There were some made for legitimate use, but fakes as well. We have one thread which talks about both: http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9957

LOL I didn't think it was original USA made, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a military hat used by another country. Thanks everyone.
VMI88 Posted September 3, 2014 Share #10 Posted September 3, 2014 At the Front made a run of these caps a number of years ago - that's one possible source for your example. I believe this was done when they were still making most of their uniforms in-house rather than having them produced overseas.
'Flage Guy Posted September 13, 2014 Share #11 Posted September 13, 2014 Can't very well add anything to what's been said; definitely a recently made cap, but at least it's a nice one!
