Hi guys.

I just acquired from an estate an Air Medal. It is a slot brooch and is engraved simply "L BENGE" on the reverse. The box is a cardboard type. I have not seen the box type or just a first initial and last name before. Can anyone give me some education on this medal? I wish I could research the name! post-5831-0-38072600-1409604853.jpgpost-5831-0-02687800-1409604865.jpgThanks

This is a post World War II field decoration set -- meaning that it was presented in the field and I would suspect the engraving was done afterward by the member.

One of the Commendation Medals that I received in the Air Force came in a simple blue box (like a service medal) without a ribbon bar and lapel pin.
