Well, my experience is limited to a TV show...very sorry!

In BoB, when Dick Winters (Damian Lewis) is on leave to Paris, he wears a chocolate coloured uniform with his Garrison cap...

This is the standard DRESS uniform right?

So this is the standard army dress uniform for all soldiers?

I see heaps for sale on USMF, but I get confused about them...

I would love to get one as a casual jacket when out and about...

I believe that was the winter issue dress uniform. Funny that scene always stood out to me as Damian Lewis looks dapper as all hell in that uniform

So its called the "Standard Winter Dress Army Uniform of WW2"?

It will make it easier for me if ever I am on the hunt for one...

Or as a reference term...

Thanks Bellsy...

Don't quote me on that! I don't want the uniform guys ripping my guts out, but I do believe it is some form of the winter issue officer dress.

Have a good one Millsy!

As a matter of interest to those discussing the winter service uniform depicted in BoB worn by the Dick Winters character, the original Dick Winters uniform will be shown in Vol III of "Heroes In Our Midst" along with other items that belonged to him. FYI, the "pinks and greens" designation that commonly addresses the officer's winter service dress uniform is not an official designation for this uniform, but merely stems from the color of the tunic and trouxers. In my opinion this is the best designed uniform produced for the Army/Army Air Force officer in modern times. Jack Angolia

Yes, standard dress uniform for all officers from 2LT to general. Courtesy of Sabrejet, 1941 army officer uniform with early Sam Browne belt and dress gloves.
