Slobo Posted August 29, 2014 Share #1 Posted August 29, 2014 I am having trouble finding references to the USMC officer long overcoat authorized after the removal of the leather Sam Brown belt from the regs around 1942-43. I know and have seen many enlisted examples from this era with slash pockets and half belt in the rear, but can anyone describe the officer's version? Also, was this worn with a cloth belt or not? Slobo Posted August 30, 2014 Author Share #4 Posted August 30, 2014 Great photos -- no belt and still flapped horizontal pockets. Another thought for enlisted overcoats from 1943+, did the buttons on these remain bronze or were they plastic?
