Corpsman_1941 Posted August 23, 2014 Share #1 Posted August 23, 2014 I found this ammunition shelllast year but I have no time to do any research with it... I just know that this type of ammo ws issued in M18 Hellcat and M4A3E8 but most interesting is manufacturer, type of ammo is stamped as in typical US made shells 76MM M26, and date on bottom-1944 but it also have marking typical for British ammo: LOT 141 and arrow , DB/C and marking which looks like like that Y Y /I\
Corpsman_1941 Posted August 23, 2014 Author Share #2 Posted August 23, 2014 This shell is really mystery for me, I know that they made US gear in Britain but I don't know that they made ammo. Anyone can Help?
Big Al Posted August 23, 2014 Share #3 Posted August 23, 2014 The arrow marking is the acceptance mark of the British Ministry of defense. So that is a British shell casing. The Canadian mark is the same arrow with a 'C' around it.
